Lancome launches exhibition in Shanghai for 90th anniversary

Lancome's story began in 1935 when Armand Petitjean was inspired to create the brand after discovering a rose in the Lancome forest along the Loire River. That same year, Petitjean introduced Lancome to the world by showcasing five signature perfumes at the Brussels World's Fair. In 1997, Lancome opened its first counter in China at Isetan Tianjin, marking the start of its nearly 30-year journey in the Chinese market.
"Lancome is like a seed of a French rose that took root in China in the 1990s. Over the past three decades, we have walked hand in hand with Chinese women, thriving in the Chinese market. We have brought beauty products that empower Chinese women to express confidence and individuality, while the wisdom, elegance, and warmth of Chinese women have nurtured and defined the Lancome brand," said Ma Xiaoyu, deputy CEO of L'Oréal China and general manager of L'Oréal China's luxury products division.
