BEIJING -- After a decade of work, China has published 23 volumes of "Ma Zang," a collection of Marxist classics and related documents, featuring a total of more than 14 million Chinese characters, said its compiler at the opening ceremony of the Fourth World Congress on Marxism in Beijing on Saturday.

Launched in 2015 by Peking University, in cooperation with several domestic and overseas research institutions, this compilation of "Ma Zang" aims to provide a complete picture of the evolution of Marxism. The entire project will take about 20 years to complete.

The published volumes include original works and translated versions, articles, reports, files, notes and letters, as well as relevant documents of the Communist Party of China.

Meanwhile, four issues of studies on "Ma Zang" have also been released, comprising over 60 papers.

The "Ma Zang" compilation will do its best to provide accurate and reliable resources for the study of the adaptation of Marxism to China's context, and help advance the study of Marxist theories, according to Gu Hailiang, editor-in-chief of "Ma Zang."
