Landslide claims 4 lives in Hebei, 8 missing

Four people have died and eight remain missing after a landslide struck a village in Hebei province, according to China Central Television on Monday.
The disaster occurred in Xigou village, located in Luanping county, Chengde city, following intense rainfall in the region.
Rescue operations are underway, with teams from provincial, municipal and county-level authorities mobilized to search for missing persons, the report said.
Heavy rains have swept across parts of northern China in recent days, raising the risk of flash floods and geological disasters in mountainous areas.
