As the Tomb-Sweeping Day approaches residents in Kunming are beginning to pay their respects to their ancestors in a more environmentally friendly way, according to xinhuanet.com.

Forsaking the traditional method of remembering ancestors by burning paper resembling money, the majority of people are choosing to present fresh flowers or silk flowers at the graves of their ancestors this year.

Tomb-Sweeping Day, which falls on April 5 this year, is a time where people always sweep the tombs of their ancestors and deceased relatives and present sacrifices to them to remember them.
