Delegation of China's first manned space mission to visit Macao ( 2003-11-01 14:41) (Xinhua)
The Delegation of China's First Manned Space Mission, comprising 26 members
including China's first astronaut Yang Liwei, will arrive in Macao next
Wednesday, announced the Macao Information Office on Saturday.
According the schedule revealed by the information office, the delegation
will make a two-day stay in Macao, during which the hero astronaut will make a
public speech, and the exhibition on China's First Manned Space Mission and the
"Shenzhou 5" re-entry capsule will be held.
Upon his arrival, Yang will attend a big welcoming ceremony held on the
"Golden Lotus" Square and the ensuing opening ceremony of the exhibition.
The space exhibition, which will continue to Nov. 7, is co-organized by the
Macao Special Administrative Region government and the China Manned Space
Engineering Headquarters, and is undertaken by China Aerospace Science and
Technology Corporation.
The SAR government will host a grand banquet in honor of the delegation in
the evening, which will be followed by an evening gala staged in the Macao
Jockey Club.
On Thursday, Yang will visit a number of scenic spots in Macao,and leave for
Beijing in the afternoon.
