China Eastern Air Holding Co Ltd signed $1.21 billion worth of procurement orders during the ongoing 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Thursday.

The deals comprised 19 contracts inked with companies from nine countries and regions, covering aircraft engines, APU (auxiliary power unit) maintenance packages, in-flight meals, aviation materials, aviation fuel among others, according to the Shanghai-based carrier.

For the first time, a buyers' corridor was specifically set up this year at the CIIE, inviting 14 major companies to move in, including China Eastern.
In the past eight years, the carrier has been a consistent supporter of the CIIE by securing substantial purchase deals.
