A disruptive technology and achievement promotion and industrial integration matchmaking event was held in Jinan, East China's Shandong province, on Oct 29. The event, as a part of the ongoing 4th Conference of Great Business Partners, attracted numerous investment institutions.

Song Weiye, founder of Shandong Tanwei Medical Technology Co Ltd, experienced a surge of interest in his company's high-resolution ophthalmic imaging equipment project. His team developed a device named "Bian Yan", inspired by the elder brother of Bian Que, a famous physician in the Warring States Period (475-221 BC). The device can detect eye diseases at an early stage with a resolution of 1 micrometer, significantly improving diagnostic capabilities.

Other groundbreaking technologies also appeared on the event, including a stratospheric solar drone by Weilan Space that can fly continuously for months at altitudes of 14 to 25 kilometers, and a special fiber rope by Qingdao Huakai Marine Technology used for both space landings and deep-sea exploration.

The conference highlighted the importance of disruptive technologies in driving economic and social transformation. Wang Duoxiang, director of the Jingjinji National Center of Technology Innovation, emphasized the need for public R&D platforms and diversified investment mechanisms to foster such innovations. Sun Haisheng, director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, stressed that mastering disruptive technologies is key to future competitiveness.
