On Oct 26, the Chinese Public Administration Society (CPAS) held its 2025 annual conference in Changchun, Jilin province. The event themed "Modernization of National Governance and the Construction of an Independent Knowledge System in Chinese Public Administration", saw over 200 participants, including provincial representatives, experts, and authors.

CPAS, under the General Office of the State Council, focuses on administrative management research and provides advisory services. The conference, co-organized by the Jilin Provincial Administrative Society and Jilin University, aimed to facilitate discussions on modernizing China's governance system.

Keynote speeches addressed such as government reform, contributions to public administration and the construction of an independent knowledge system construction. Other discussions included agricultural modernization and policy execution.

A roundtable explored "Looking Forward to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30): Government Governance Practice and Theoretical Innovation", featuring six parallel sessions. A special meeting celebrated the 40th anniversary of the "China Administrative Management" journal.

The conference also included the fourth executive of the 8th council, which focused on implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the development of CPAS.

Simultaneously, the Young Scholars Forum hosted over 100 authors and editors, discussing digital governance, grassroots innovation, and public policy.
