Fifteen couples recently held a traditional group wedding at Lianxin Lake in Liaozhong district, Shenyang, Liaoning province.

The ceremony featured couples walking hand in hand with red silk ribbons and unity knots swaying gently in the lake breeze. Under the guidance of ceremonial officials, the couples performed ancient rituals, with each gesture demonstrating the solemnity and elegance of Chinese etiquette.

The most heartwarming moment came when 15 elderly couples who had been married for 50 years shared their marriage wisdom.

Liu Lu said, "This group wedding made me feel a very heart-warming cultural atmosphere. I already consider Liaozhong my second hometown".

The ceremony also included a traditional wine-sharing ritual, where couples drank unity wine together to symbolize eternal togetherness.

Since the first group wedding in 2024, Liaozhong district has guided over 100 couples to practice wedding custom reforms through this simple yet solemn group wedding format. The practice preserves traditional wedding culture while promoting civilized new practices of simplicity and moderation, making marriage registration a memorable ceremony of happiness.
