New measures to reduce power costs
Chinese power operators are introducing new measures to help enterprises cut power costs. In Tongling of Anhui province, local power workers developed a co-building model in the economic development zone, and used its big-data screening to pinpoint enterprises whose power-factor readings appeared abnormal. Seeing the West Lake Wetland Co have such problems, staff members of the Tongguan branch of State Grid Tongling visited the site and found that a broken device had triggered abnormal power consumption. They solved the issue on the spot. Based on their "Act First, Wait Never "initiative, they helped 45 firms trim power bills by 1.25 million yuan ($176,056) in the first half.
Yuan weakens against greenback
The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, weakened 37 pips to 7.1056 against the US dollar on Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.
