On Sept 6, the 2025 "Baita Cup" Cultural Creativity Competition, hosted by the Government of Xicheng District, Beijing, officially opened its call for entries. This year's theme,"Cultural Integration in Xicheng, Creating the Future", invites talents from various fields such as culture, design, technology, finance, and business from across the world to contribute to shaping a new blueprint for the capital's cultural hub.

The competition features five categories: cultural product development, urban consumption scene design, cultural consumption content innovation, cultural-tourism-sports technology innovation applications, and intangible cultural heritage innovative transformation applications.

The cultural product development track seeks high-quality cultural and creative products such as souvenirs and travel mementos that can be mass-produced and marketed. The urban consumption scene design track invites proposals for immersive spaces and night economy zones, focusing on revitalizing cultural heritage buildings and cultural districts. The cultural consumption content innovation track looks for fresh content formats like short videos, citywalks, and themed exhibitions. The cultural-tourism-sports technology innovation track is looking for solutions like smart guides and city-level smart consumption platforms. The intangible cultural heritage innovative transformation applications track aims to breathe new life into heritage practices by combining them with technology, education, and performing arts.

To ensure professionalism and credibility, a panel of expert judges including renowned industry experts, experienced investors, and entrepreneurial mentors, will provide professional support from multiple perspectives.

During the competition, a series of events will also be held, including themed salons, intangible cultural heritage experiences, industry seminars, and cultural and creative markets. These activities aim to showcase outstanding creative projects, foster cross-industry exchanges, and strengthen connections across the cultural innovation ecosystem, helping bring ideas closer to commercialization of cultural and creative projects.

The call for entries for this year's competition will continue until 24:00 on Oct 17. Submissions will be selected through three rounds: preliminary, secondary, and final evaluations.

This year's competition will award two first prizes, three second prizes, five third prizes, 20 individual awards, and 70 track excellence awards. First prize winners will receive a cash reward of 50,000 yuan (roughly $7,050). All winners will be honored at an awards ceremony in December.

The registration channel is now fully open. Visit the competition's website for more information.
