Chinese electric two-wheeler makers in constant innovation to boost urban mobility

Amid a global shift toward sustainable transport, China is producing more electric two-wheelers, with the sales volume in the Chinese market projected to reach 52 million units this year.
Industrial experts said that with rising fuel costs, growing environmental concerns, and the need for efficient urban mobility, electric two-wheelers have emerged as a leading solution worldwide.
According to iResearch Consulting, the sales volume of electric two-wheelers in China last year stood at around 50 million units, but with the release of the new national standard policy and the promotion of trade-in subsidies, the figure is bound to jump this year.
Electric two-wheelers combining high safety and balanced performance have become a core demand at a critical transformation point in the industry, where the market volume steadily expands and the safety threshold for terminal applications is increasing.
Liu Zhibo, executive vice-president of BAK Battery, said the global trend toward electric two-wheelers is an opportunity for manufactures to drive innovation.
To respond to this surging trend, BAK Battery has launched PRO-MAX series, designed to meet the diverse and demanding needs of the global electric two-wheeler market.
"We are committed to meeting user needs and industry standards through continuous technological breakthroughs," he said.
The newly released PRO-MAX 46137 battery represents a significant leap forward. Building on the success of the PRO-M high-safety battery line, the new product features comprehensive upgrades in materials and structure, resulting in enhanced safety, economy, and performance.
It has been learned that the PRO-MAX 46137 battery utilizes a nano-composite material system, achieving an impressive gravimetric energy density of 190Wh/kg (watt-hours per kilogram) and a volumetric energy density of 490Wh/L (watt-hours per liter). With a single-cell capacity of 30Ah (ampere-hours), it has redefined the standard for electric two-wheeler battery capacity.
Liu said that the PRO-MAX 46137 battery offers outstanding fast-charging capabilities, with the ability to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes, enabling users to get back on the road quickly. With a cycle life of up to 2,000 times and a capacity retention rate of over 80 percent, the battery can provide more than five years of reliable service.
"This significantly reduces the frequency of battery replacements for users, slashing life cycle costs by 50 percent compared to lead-acid batteries," he said.
Liu said he is sure that Chinese electric two-wheeler makers will continue to invest in R&D, providing users with safer, more efficient, and cost-effective mobility solutions, and propelling the industry to new heights.
