A boy recently earned praise from the CCTV News for wiping the beverage he accidentally spilled on the subway in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, an act which was captured on video and went viral, Guangzhou Daily reported.

The child, Huang Zi, is a student at the Lianhuawan School of Guangdong Zhongyuan High School, who will be entering the fifth grade this new school year. "I was afraid some passengers stepping on the beverage might slip and fall, so I took tissues from my backpack and wiped it off the floor." Huang said, adding that the only thing that made him feel uneasy was that his parents found out he drank the beverage instead of water because of the viral video.

According to Huang's teacher, the boy excels academically, is well-organized and has a sense of humor. Huang is self-reliant, helps his parents with household chores, and has good living habits, the report said.

Huang's mother said the video was taken by a passerby, and she didn't know it until a colleague forwarded the video to her. However, she was not surprised by her son's behavior. "Huang Zi is optimistic, responsible, and willing to take on responsibilities," she said.

"We praised him while reminding him to avoid eating or drinking on the subway next time and to drink less beverage," Huang's mother said. As per the family's tradition, when something happens, Huang's parents discuss and analyze with him. "The most important thing is to teach him that it's okay to make mistakes, what matters is to take responsibility and don't shirk," she said.
