Seven dead after Fujian coal mine incident

Officials said a coal mine in Datian county, Fujian province, reported workers missing underground at about 11 pm on Thursday. Seven people were later confirmed dead, according to China Central Television.
At 4:10 am on Friday, one injured worker escaped, and rescuers brought seven trapped workers to the surface. On-site medical staff confirmed that, despite rescue efforts, the seven showed no vital signs, the report said.
On-site emergency rescue operations have concluded. Follow-up and aftercare work is underway, and authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
