The Trump administration is "aggressively" revoking Chinese students' visas, undermining their legitimate rights under the guise of national security.
China firmly opposes this and has lodged representations with the US side, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning.
Reports said that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered US embassies to halt new student visa appointments and prepare for expanded vetting.
