State Council oversees deadly Shandong chemical blast probe

The State Council's Work Safety Committee has assumed supervision over the investigation into a deadly explosion at Shandong Youdao Chemical in Gaomi, Shandong province, which claimed five lives with six still missing.
The explosion occurred at about 11:57 am on Tuesday.
In accordance with China's regulations on major accident investigations, the committee announced a special supervision of the case on Wednesday, requiring authorities to conduct immediate investigations, promptly identify the cause of the accident, and hold the responsible individuals accountable in accordance with laws and regulations.
