Guangzhou optimizes household registration with AI system

Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, recently optimized its household registration process by introducing an artificial intelligence and big data-based testing, application and review system, according to the local government.
The city has implemented a one-click testing, application and automatic review system for introducing in-service talents for household registration, with qualified talents being approved instantly, according to a post from the local government's official WeChat account.
The system automatically reviews a user's information, such as social security, education and age, to provide real-time feedback on whether they meet the household registration conditions.
It retrieves the personal information from shared platforms. Verified users will have their applications automatically reviewed, with results provided instantly.
By reducing the review time from an average of five working days to instant approval, the system has become the first government service case in the country to automate the entire process of qualification pre-judgment, application and review.
To effectively address the concerns of talents coming to Guangzhou and to encourage them to settle in the city, local authorities are revising their policies related to introducing talents for household registration, with further relaxation of household registration conditions expected.
From 2014 to 2024, the city processed 494,000 household registrations for in-service talents, injecting strong momentum into the local economic and social development.
