Knife attack in Shanghai kills 3

Eighteen people were stabbed at a supermarket in Shanghai's Songjiang district on Monday evening, three of whom died due to critical injuries.
This was confirmed by the Songjiang branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau on Tuesday, adding that an additional 15 people were sent to hospital and are out of danger.
The suspect, surnamed Lin, 37, was detained at the scene.
Preliminary investigations showed that Lin went to Shanghai to vent his anger following a personal financial dispute. Further investigations are ongoing.
