?Beijing to start new COVID-19 app

Beijing will roll out a mini-program on WeChat as a platform to provide service for group units to check staff's health information concerning COVID-19 infections, local authority said at a news conference on Sunday.
The program is to help counter the difficulties that some social organizations are not equipped with enough staff for epidemic prevention and control work, and thus the situation about the work is not clear, Peng Xuehai, deputy head of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, said at the conference.
Via the program, the organizations can check their employees' health condition, results of nucleic acid testing and vaccination status, Peng said. All the information will only be used for COVID-19 epidemic control and prevention work and the data will be encrypted during storage and transmission to protect people's privacy.
The program will run for trial starting on Monday.
