FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour resumes

LAUSANNE -- The FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour will return this week with a double gender 1-star event set to be staged in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the world volleyball governing body said on its website on Tuesday.
Under specific health and hygiene measures required by the Slovenian authorities, the tournament will be played at three outdoor courts at the Sports Park Ludus Crnuce and one at Congress Square.
It will be modified to four days, with the finals slated for Sunday. Austrian Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst, runners-up at the Vienna 2017 World Championships, will lead the men's entry list.
However, there will be no points allocated at the tournament as the FIVB ranking system has been frozen since March 16, and FIVB is expected to announce the "possible resumption of the Ranking System" in the coming weeks.
The next World Tour tournament will be played from Aug 20 to 23 in Baden, Austria, followed by an event in Montpellier, France from Aug 25 to 29.
