With District Council elections approaching, the pro-establishment camp is facing "the worst election situation", said poll contestant Horace Cheung Kwok-kwan.
Many have doubts whether the elections can be held smoothly on Nov 24, when acts of violence are threatening to disrupt campaign activities.
He told China Daily that he and other pro-establishment candidates have been targeted by violent radical protesters.
